Dee Dee Ramone to Be Remembered

Ramones fans can celebrate the life and music of Dee Dee Ramone at the Key Club Friday night, with tribute performances by the Angry Samoans, Texas Terri & the Stiff Ones, the Underhills, Channel 3 and the Skulls, along with an all-star band that includes members of Total Chaos, the Crowd and Guns N’ Roses. Dee Dee, who passed away June 5, had been scheduled to perform at the Key Club on Friday.

Saturday, the Cat Club is also paying tribute to Dee Dee with a gathering of friends and family. Pleasant dreams.... Caught up with ‘N Sync’s J.C. Chasez at a house party on fight night. The superstar won the $150 betting pool in the Lennox Lewis-Mike Tyson bout. Talk about lucky stars.... So we hear the Firm is happening again. Rapper DMX was spotted at the Wilshire Boulevard nightclub last week.... Crashed a power lunch at the Palm restaurant, the favorite spot for music industry players, and ran into SideOneDummy’s Bill Armstrong and Joe Sib, who were brainstorming on the label’s new Mighty Mighty Bosstones release, “A Jackknife to a Swan.” They’re taking it to radio. Excellent....

Henry Rollins is putting together an album featuring Black Flag songs to benefit the West Memphis Three, three death row teens who he believes were wrongfully convicted of murder. He’s teamed with Pennywise on one track .... Ran into Dogstar drummer Rob Mailhouse at Goodform in Hollywood. He says he’s hooking up with the band’s bass player (a.k.a. Keanu Reeves) in Australia to rehearse for an upcoming New Zealand and Japanese tour. Most excellent....

In naughty news, the annual Fetish Ball comes to town this weekend for a three-night fiesta de flesh. Performance artist Lydia Lunch hosts Saturday’s main ball at the Hollywood Athletic Club.
