Rail Won’t Work When It’s Been Undermined
Re “CenterLine Would Be a Track Star, Study Says,” May 31:
Many of us would have loved to see a CenterLine extending beyond Fullerton to connect us directly to our regional airports. Political reality, however, has forced us to accept a compromised rail project that will not be as successful as one offering more coverage.
The sad thing is that opponents will likely end up using this argument against extending the project because the cost-benefit ratio will likely be less obvious. They won’t, however, acknowledge that the limited success is mostly due to the roadblocks they have erected. We deserve a comprehensive answer to our transportation needs, and we want it now.
