Driver Found Dead in His Pickup
The driver of a pickup was found dead in his wrecked vehicle in a Laguna Beach drainage ditch, police said Saturday.
Police said they found Ryan McDonough, 29, of Laguna Beach inside his black Toyota truck shortly before 11 p.m. Friday near the dog park in the 20600 block of Laguna Canyon Road.
Witnesses saw McDonough driving fast and erratically in the southbound lane of that road shortly before the crash, police said. He crossed over into the northbound lane, jumped a curb and hit a bridge over the drainage ditch, then landed below, police said.
Witnesses to the accident called 911, but McDonough was dead when police and paramedics arrived, authorities said.
