Sign Of Lanty will try to end a rare losing streak when he makes his 57th start in the $31,650 James Smith Memorial Handicap tonight at Los Alamitos.
Long a top performer at 870 yards, the veteran gelding was beaten in consecutive races at Sunland Park in March after winning his first race of 2002 in a dead heat on Feb. 2 at Los Alamitos.
Owned by Jackie and Rod Macpherson Jr. and trained by John Cooper, Sign Of Lanty will be ridden by Eddie Garcia as he seeks his 25th win.
