Leather-Clad Robber Flees With $2,700
A robber dressed in black leather fled from a bank with more than $2,700 Saturday, police reported.
The robber, wearing a black leather baseball cap and a black leather jacket, walked into the Newport Avenue branch of Union Bank shortly after 9 a.m., according to Tustin police.
The man instructed a teller to remain calm and to take the money from her cash drawer and put it in an envelope, which she did. He took the note and the envelope and apparently made his getaway on foot in an unknown direction, police said. No weapon was seen.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Tustin Sgt. Jeff Beeler at (714) 573-3257.
