Trophies Reflect Paper’s Position

Re “Unity May Yet Break Out in Fractious Media Clan,” Sept. 16:

Pictures such as the ones of Tim Hoiles published in The Times this morning, posing so proudly with the animals he shot and had mounted, undeniably confirms the position of the newspaper (the Orange County Register) his family owns. The stance of this newspaper, as many know or should know, is anti-environment, anti-animal rights and all-out development at blinding/breakneck speeds.

Tim Hoiles, great white hunter, would have much more of a challenge with these creatures he killed if he ever were to consider sneaking up on them and bagging them with a camera.

But I imagine the mere thought of this is overwhelming to such a being. What would he then fill his mansion’s manly room with, mere photos?
