Men Who Claim Bonds Ball to Face Off in Court
A mediator on Wednesday failed to reach a compromise between two San Francisco Giants fans battling over ownership of Barry Bonds’ record-setting 73rd home run baseball.
After meeting with former Contra Costa County Judge Coleman Fannin, Alex Popov and Patrick Hayashi will face each other in court over the ball, valued at more than $1 million.
The pair are scheduled to appear in civil court today. Both scrambled over the home run ball last October. Popov briefly had possession before Hayashi emerged from a scuffle with the ball.
