Record vs. Revolution -- 1-1
Update -- The Revolution scrambled to make postseason play, finishing 5-0-1 and securing a playoff spot in its final game. Goalkeeper Adin Brown, who is 6 feet 5, is having a superb run, recording four shutouts in six playoff games. His goals-against average is 0.64. Striker Taylor Twellman missed the last playoff game because of a sprained right knee but said he expects to play against the Galaxy. For the Galaxy, midfielder Peter Vagenas continues to nurse a strained right hamstring. “At this stage, we haven’t decided 100% [of him starting]. Peter will play -- whether he starts or comes off the bench,” Galaxy Coach Sigi Schmid said. The Galaxy put two players -- defender Alexi Lalas and forward Carlos Ruiz -- on the league’s Best XI, a lineup of 11 players based on a 3-5-2 alignment, which was announced on Saturday night at the MLS’ awards ceremony. Last year, the Galaxy beat the Revolution in the U.S. Open Cup final, 2-1, in overtime.
