Fire Jumps From Trees, Guts 3 Mobile Homes
- Share via
A three-alarm fire destroyed three mobile homes Saturday, causing more than $180,000 in damage to the structures and their contents. Anaheim Fire Department spokeswoman Maria Sabol said the fire began in a row of juniper trees and spread to the homes.
About 60 firefighters from Anaheim, Orange and the Orange County Fire Authority responded to the blaze, fearing that it could spread to other units at the Friendly Village mobile home park in the 5800 block of East La Palma Avenue. The fire was brought under control in 46 minutes.
A pregnant woman who fell while running from the fire was taken to a local hospital for observation, Sabol said. A man who tried to extinguish the blaze with a garden hose was treated for chest pains at the scene by paramedics, but he refused to be transported to a hospital, she said.
