Toddler Hit, Killed by Vehicle Near Her Home

A 20-month-old girl was hit by a vehicle near her home in Oxnard and died shortly afterward at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, authorities said Saturday.
The girl was identified as Isbel Gonzales by a spokesman for the Ventura County coroner’s office. She lived in a mobile home park in the 1300 block of Commercial Avenue, where she was struck at about 4:20 p.m. She was pronounced dead a half hour later.
Oxnard police Saturday night said her death was still under investigation.
