Police Fatally Shoot 2nd Man in Two Days
In the second officer-involved fatal shooting in as many days, police killed a man Friday after a confrontation in a home, authorities said.
In the latest shooting, officers arrived in the 10400 block of Woodstead Avenue about 7:30 p.m. to detain a 44-year-old man who earlier allegedly had threatened to shoot a resident at a nearby home, according to a Whittier police statement. Police shot the unidentified man after he pulled out a handgun, the statement said.
On Thursday, Whittier police killed a 28-year-old man who allegedly reached for an officer’s gun and tried to stab him during a struggle in a home in the 5500 block of Mesagrove Avenue, police said.
