City, Irrigation Districts Back Water Transfers
The city of Tracy and local irrigation officials are urging a judge to dismiss a lawsuit seeking to stop two water transfers that would supply water to thousands of future Tracy residents.
Attorneys for the city of Tracy and the West Side and Banta-Carbona irrigation districts asked for the dismissal on Monday, claiming the Sierra Club had no proof the water sale would hurt the environment.
The Sierra Club sued the water districts last fall, alleging that they didn’t properly evaluate the water sale impacts on the environment and growth.
