Tom Coughlin was upbeat Friday as he headed back to Florida after interviewing with Cincinnati Bengal owner Mike Brown and Brown’s family about the team’s coaching job.

Coughlin, fired by the Jacksonville Jaguars, is one of at least five candidates for the job.

“It was a preliminary discussion,” Coughlin told WXIX-TV in Cincinnati. “This is a job that’s very attractive to me, without a doubt.”

A lawyer wants a federal court to stop the Super Bowl unless the city of San Diego expands access for the disabled at Qualcomm Stadium.

Attorney Amy Vandeveld said she filed an application for an injunction in U.S. District Court to force the city to comply with the terms of a 2001 settlement aimed at expanding disabled access at the stadium.

Vandeveld contends Qualcomm’s restrooms were not in compliance with the agreement, which resolved a 1997 lawsuit brought by disabled activist Beverly Walker. Vandeveld said concession stands and entrances were inaccessible, and the required number of wheelchair seats had not been installed.

The city has argued that the Super Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 26, is a private event and is not covered under the terms of the agreement. A hearing on the request for the court order is scheduled for Thursday.

“It’s not too sore at all. That’s not to say it won’t be sore later, but we’ll continue to work with it,” McNabb said.

McNabb hasn’t played since breaking his right ankle in Philadelphia’s 38-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 17. He practiced for the first time Thursday and pronounced himself ready to play.

Steve McNair threw passes and took part in a few drills as the Tennessee Titans practiced for an hour.

The quarterback sat out the final couple of drills, but he said his right toe and ribs feel fine.

The Titans have a bye in the first round of the playoffs, and McNair says the time off will ease the tightness in his lower back that resulted from not practicing during the final five weeks of the season.
