Robber Rejects Lowly Singles
A picky bank robber turned up his nose at $600 in $1 bills, fleeing with a few $20 bills instead, authorities said Tuesday.
The man walked into a Union Bank on Saturday and gave a teller a note that stated: “Robbery! Hundreds, 10s, 20s,” said Jim Amormino, Orange County sheriff’s spokesman.
The teller explained that she had $600 in $1 bills and some $20, $10 and $5 bills, but nothing larger. The robber told her, “Give me your loose 20s,” Amormino said, and walked out with an undetermined number of bills.
