7 Amtrak Workers Hurt in Crash at Train Depot
Seven Amtrak workers were treated for minor injuries Friday after a crash in downtown Sacramento.
Five cars of a parked Amtrak passenger train derailed early Friday when a slow-moving Union Pacific freight train slammed into it. All five of the cars stayed upright after the derailment.
Authorities would not comment on what caused the accident.
Seven Amtrak workers reported minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital after the accident, which occurred at Sacramento’s downtown train depot. No passengers were on the train at the time.
