Scoring Binge for Shock
Swin Cash scored 23 points and Deanna Nolan added 17 Thursday night as the Detroit Shock beat the Connecticut Sun, 103-89, at Auburn Hills, Mich.
Shannon Johnson led Connecticut (2-2) with 24 points, but only scored one basket in the second half.
Detroit’s point total was the second-highest in team history, behind only a league-record 111 points against Indiana on June 18, 2000. The Shock is 1-1.
San Antonio 70, Phoenix 55 -- Marie Ferdinand scored 22 points to help the Silver Stars rally at San Antonio.
Adrienne Goodson scored 13 points and Margo Dydek added 12 for San Antonio (2-4), which broke a four-game losing streak.
Adrian Williams scored a career-high 18 points to lead Phoenix (1-5), which has lost three in a row.
San Antonio trailed, 37-26, at halftime but opened the second half with a 28-8 run to take control of the game.
