TODAY’S GAMES
AT SPOKANE, WASH.
No. 13 Tulsa (23-9) vs. No. 5 Wisconsin (23-7)
Time: 2:50 p.m.
The skinny: Tulsa pulled off a big upset in the first round, taking care of fourth-seeded Dayton, 84-71. Jason Parker, Kevin Johnson and Dante Swanson combined for 64 points and were a big reason Tulsa shot 57% from the field. Tulsa, which was 15-9 at one point in the season, has won eight in a row. Wisconsin scored its most points since Feb. 1 in an 81-74 victory over Weber State. Kirk Penney led the Badgers with 21 points. Penney is the Badgers’ featured player on offense, so shutting him down or at least slowing him down is key for the Golden Hurricane.
AT INDIANAPOLIS
No. 3 Marquette (24-5) vs. No. 6 Missouri (22-10)
Time: 12:40 p.m. PST
The skinny: The Golden Eagles have two big guys -- Robert Jackson, who is 6 feet 10, 260 pounds, and Scott Merritt, who is 6-10, 245. But the Tigers can counter with Arthur Johnson, who is 6-9, 265 and Travon Bryant, who is 6-9, 236. The Golden Eagles’ point guard is Travis Diener, a sophomore who thrives under pressure. The Tigers’ point guard is Jimmy McKinney, who is experiencing tournament pressure for the first time.
