Orange County Fire Authority Chief Chip Prather has been named to a blue-ribbon commission reviewing the efforts of firefighters during the recent Southern California wildfires.
The commission, created in consultation with Gov.-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger, will consist of federal, state and local officials. It will evaluate jurisdictional, operational and regulatory issues and make recommendations to prevent and combat destructive fires.
Prather, who has been fire authority chief since 1997, was honored as California’s Fire Chief of the Year in 2002.
