Emmy wins

Regarding Tom Mannarino’s letter (Sept. 28): I’m sorry you’re upset some people win multiple Emmys.
You’re right about those and other pesky awards. Floyd Patterson should have quit after his first heavyweight title and let another fighter have a chance to be the best. William Faulkner shouldn’t have been such a hog as to win Pulitzers in both 1955 and 1963. Hopefully, when you’re up for your second bowling trophy, you’ll stop and think of the talented actress Doris Roberts, who has proven during her career she has what it takes to make us laugh (“Raymond”) and cry (“St. Elsewhere”).
Make a pledge to turn down that trophy so someone with a 165 average can have a chance to be honored for their talent.
