Brush Fire Contained After Nearing Homes
From Times Staff Reports
A brush fire scorched 200 acres and briefly threatened a dozen homes Monday before firefighters largely contained it, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman.
The fire was reported about 1 p.m. near California 138. By 7 p.m., the blaze was 60% contained and fire officials estimated that it would be fully contained by this morning.
