2 Men Fatally Shot in South Los Angeles
Two men died in separate shootings 25 blocks apart along the same street early Wednesday in South Los Angeles.
Just after midnight, Dewayne Herring, 28, was killed while walking out of his home in the 4200 block of Budlong Avenue.
Neighbors heard a single gunshot and described a white Chevrolet Camaro fleeing the scene, said Det. Dave Garrido of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division.
About 10 a.m., Keiyontate Bailey, 20, was shot near West 67th Street and Budlong and died later at a hospital.
Bailey was described by friends as a college student.
He was standing outside when attacked by an assailant with an AK-47 assault rifle who also riddled the house behind him with bullets, police said.
