A man sought for 100 armed robberies targeting women in West Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Culver City made a national most-wanted list, federal authorities announced Tuesday.

Trevor Damaurn Woods, a paroled cocaine trafficker, allegedly used a semiautomatic handgun to force his victims to surrender wallets, purses, jewelry and cash. Authorities say he has also held up nail salons.

Woods, 35, has struck victims in the head, placed them in chokeholds, shoved them to the ground and threatened to shoot them, said John Clark, chief U.S. marshal. He was placed on the U.S. Marshals Service’s “15 Most Wanted” list.

“He targets women. He profiles them. He looks for those with money and follows them home,” Clark said.

The LAPD, Beverly Hills police and Culver City police sought federal assistance in pursuing Woods because of the number of crimes and their brutality, Clark said.

The robberies took place from May 2001 to last summer.

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office has charged Woods in several armed robberies in 2001. He is also a fugitive from federal authorities in Tulsa, Okla.

Described as African American, 6 feet, 190 pounds with a tattoo on his left arm reading “MONA,” Woods has been convicted of assault, weapons offenses and narcotics possession.

Investigators say he may be driving a 1997 GMC Tahoe or black Toyota Camry.
