Strawfly Special, 17, Dies in Moreno Valley

Strawfly Special, one of the best quarter horse sires in history, died earlier this week at Double Bar S Ranch in Moreno Valley.

The sire of two-time world champion Tailor Fit and All-American Futurity winners Streakin Flyer and Ausual Suspect, Strawfly Special was 17. The cause of death was colic.

Owned by Sharon, Rhonda and Dawn List, Strawfly Special has progeny earnings of more than $17.7 million.
