* Claude Williams, San Bernardino Arroyo Valley: Had 41 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds in a 91-65 victory over Alta Loma in a pool-play game at the Pasadena tournament.

* Buchi Awaji, Los Angeles Loyola: Scored 21 points for the No. 9 Cubs, who outscored Gardena Serra by 12 in the fourth quarter to secure a 62-55 victory in a quarterfinal game in the Redondo tournament.

* Eddie Espinoza, El Monte: Made a three-point basket with five seconds left to lift the Lions to a 32-31 nonleague victory over Baldwin Park.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

* Latara Darrett, Chino Don Lugo: Scored 24 points to lead the No. 25 Conquistadors to a 60-55 victory over No. 15 Carson in a second-round game at the Brea Olinda tournament.

* Erika Arriaran, Norco: Made five three-pointers and scored 35 points to help the No. 7 Cougars rally from a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit and defeat No. 24 Irvine Woodbridge, 67-63, in a pool-play game at the Woodbridge tournament.
