FIRST TEAM SINGLES

HILARY BARTE; Harvard-Westlake; So.

* Won Mission League title and advanced to Southern Section semifinals, finishing 42-3, with two losses to Mello and one to Corona del Mar’s Jill Damion.

NAZLIE GHAZAL; Chaparral; Sr.

* After runner-up finish in Southern Section singles tournament, she will take her talents to Northwestern next year.

ALLY KRASNOPOLSKY; Campbell Hall; Sr.

* Boston College signee advanced to Southern Section semifinals. Was 48-3 and led Vikings to second consecutive Division III title.

MAGGIE MELLO; Mission Viejo; So.

* Player of the year showed true grit and great ground strokes in becoming her school’s first section title winner.

Coach of the Year: Brian Ricker, Corona del Mar.

* After leading Laguna Beach to the Division I semifinals in 2003, he took over the high-profile Sea Kings (18-4) this year and did the same thing.

FIRST TEAM DOUBLES

Alex Margolin, Sr. and Roxanne Plata, Jr., Granada Hills.

* Won City Section doubles championship for second consecutive season, becoming the third team in City history to win consecutive titles. Also led Highlanders to City team title.

Amber Harper, Sr., and Jennifer Kaswick, Sr., Harvard-Westlake.

* Won Mission League title and followed up by winning the Southern Section championship, going 54-2 in sets on the season.

Erynne Oki, Sr., and Aimee Oki, So., Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

* Proved last year’s quarterfinal showing was no fluke by advancing to Southern Section doubles final match, where they fell to Harper and Kaswick in three sets.
