WRESTLING

There are two ways to judge a team -- in a dual meet, which assesses its overall strength, or in an individual tournament, which awards individual advancement. These rankings are a hybrid of those models. Temecula Valley made a strong case that it is the Southern Section’s best dual-meet performer when it won the Division I title on Saturday. Santa Ana Calvary Chapel may be the best individual tournament team thanks to David Jauregui. Covina Northview, however, is the best in terms of both.

In another nonleague match between ranked teams, Corona del Mar defeated Montebello, 7-3.
