P Taryne Mowatt, Cor. Santiago Sr.

Arizona-bound player of the year went 24-3 with 0.39 ERA and 326 strikeouts for the second-ranked Sharks. She finished her career 91-16 with a 0.33 ERA and 1,282 strikeouts; averaged 11 strikeouts and 1.9 hits given up per seven innings.

P Brittany Weil, G.G. Pacifica Jr.

Daughter of Coach Rob Weil led top-ranked team to second consecutive Division III title with a 26-2 record and an 0.16 ERA. She also struck out 265 in 175 innings.

C Rachel Folden, Diamond Bar Sr.

In a year of good catchers, Marshall-bound Folden stood out as the best. She batted .531, scored 20 runs and drove in 37. She also had 12 doubles, five homers and a .914 slugging average.

1B De Ann Young, Camarillo Jr.

Camarillo struggled at the plate, but Young batted a consistent .430 with 28 runs and 24 RBIs -- twice the totals of her closest teammates. She also carried a .684 slugging average.

IF Anna Beardman, King Sr.

Stanford-bound second baseman was a tough out. King’s undisputed leader batted .459, scored 30 runs, delivered 15 RBIs and had an .878 slugging average.

IF Stephanie Churchwell, El Toro Sr.

Northwestern-bound shortstop is arguably the Southland’s best hitter. Delivered a .474 average with 30 runs, 16 RBIs and, batting leadoff, had 10 homers and .928 slugging percentage.

IF Michelle Smith, Agoura Sr.

Stanford-bound third baseman didn’t see many good pitches but still batted .463, scored 17 runs and drove in 19 on a team that scored only 95 runs. Had four homers and a slugging percentage of .756.

OF Caitlin Cochran, Rosary Jr.

A feared batter who drew 18 walks against stellar opponents. Center fielder batted .567 with 26 runs, 26 RBIs and an .855 slugging percentage that included seven triples.

OF Tiffany Wright, Cor. Santiago Jr.

Steady center fielder was the big bat in the Division II champion’s lineup. She batted .461 with 24 RBIs, 17 runs scored and a .663 slugging percentage.

OF Brianna Goad, Norco Jr.

Speedy right fielder was critical to the fifth-ranked Cougars’ success. Batted .422 in the leadoff spot with a .661 slugging percentage, 18 runs scored and nine RBIs.

UT Mindy Cowles, Riverside Poly Sr.

Arizona State-bound pitcher/shortstop scored 24 runs with 29 RBIs and led the third-ranked Bears to the Division I title with a .429 batting average and an .868 slugging percentage. As a pitcher, went 19-4 with 0.48 ERA.
