In the second shooting from a vehicle in as many days, two women were wounded early Wednesday on a street in the Mission Hills area.

The shooting in the 15500 block of Rinaldi Street occurred about 5 a.m. after a “discussion” between the two women and a man, Los Angeles Police Officer Ed Funes said.

The women were in a car when the man fired at them from what police described as a new white or yellow pickup. According to law enforcement sources, the man had tried to solicit the women for sex.

Both women were hospitalized in serious but stable condition at an undisclosed hospital Wednesday and were expected to survive, Funes said.

The incident is not connected to a fatal shooting early Tuesday on the Hollywood Freeway, according to an LAPD spokesperson.

Detectives continued to question a witness, friends and family of a 20-year-old college student who was shot to death while driving on the freeway near Sherman Way in North Hollywood.

Garen Ketikyan, who attended Valley College, was with a friend when a gunman in a passing car fired 10 to 15 times.
