BASEBALL
* Adam McNaught, Lakewood Mayfair: Threw a two-hitter with four strikeouts, and Daniel Prieto and Mitch Lander each had two hits, one run batted in and one run scored for the visiting Monsoons in a 6-0 upset of previously unbeaten No. 1 Encino Crespi in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader. The Celts won the second game, 2-1, in nine innings.
* Matt Cusick and Michael Gaggioli, Santa Margarita: Cusick had a run-scoring double in the first inning, and Gaggioli pitched a one-hitter for the host No. 6 Eagles in a 1-0 Serra League victory over No. 8 Santa Ana Mater Dei.
* Matt Navarez, San Fernando: Had two hits and four RBIs and struck out five in five innings for the Tigers in a 6-3 second-round upset of No. 18 Woodland Hills El Camino Real in the Chatsworth tournament.
SOFTBALL
* Daniela Urincho, Norco: Pitched a perfect game with four strikeouts for the top-ranked Cougars in an 8-0 victory over Whittier California in the Foothill tournament.
TRACK AND FIELD
* Gayle Hunter, Riverside North: Won the long jump at 19 feet 8 3/4 and the triple jump at 40-6 to earn the girls’ field event athlete of the meet award in the San Diego Mount Carmel relays at Poway High.
* Lionel Larry, Compton Dominguez: Was selected the boys’ track athlete of the meet after winning the 100 in 10.66 seconds and the 200 in 21.39 in the San Diego Mount Carmel relays.
