Mel Gibson Gets Order Against Homeless Man
Mel Gibson has obtained a temporary restraining order against a homeless man who allegedly showed up at the actor’s Malibu estate and the chapel he attends, demanding that they pray together.
Zack Sinclair, 34, was arrested Sept. 20 for investigation of disorderly conduct and loitering, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. He remained in jail Friday on $5,000 bail pending a court hearing Wednesday.
Sinclair allegedly sent letters to Gibson and his family in which he recounted his prayers for the actor, cited biblical verse and praised Gibson’s movie “The Passion of the Christ.”
Sinclair also allegedly went to the gate of Gibson’s estate twice in September after evading neighborhood security and asked to pray with the actor. He was first ordered away and then detained.
In a court filing, Gibson said the man also interrupted his worship at an Agoura chapel Sept. 19 and “demanded that I pray with him” before a bodyguard escorted him out.
“I continue to be extremely concerned for the safety of my family,” Gibson said in the filing requesting the restraining order.
