Card Receives High Grade

Belmont Park’s pick four today is made up of only Grade I races, beginning with the $750,000 Flower Bowl Invitational, continuing with the $500,000 Vosburgh and the $750,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational, then concluding with the $1-million Jockey Club Gold Cup.

A prep for the Breeders’ Cup Classic in four weeks at Lone Star Park in Texas, the 1 1/4 -mile Jockey Club Gold Cup attracted -- The Cliff’s Edge, Love Of Money, Domestic Dispute, Evening Attire, Bowman’s Band, Newfoundland and Funny Cide, who has now lost nine of 11 starts since he won the 2003 Kentucky Derby and Preakness.

The seven-furlong Vosburgh has only six runners but among them are defending Breeders’ Cup Sprint champion Cajun Beat, Speightstown and Pico Central.

Nine fillies and mares are scheduled to run 1 1/4 miles on the grass in the Flower Bowl, and the 12-furlong Joe Hirsch Turf Classic includes the talented 3-year-old Kitten’s Joy.

Race of the day: Turkish Cavalry will try the turf for the first time in today’s seventh at Santa Anita. The one-mile race is part of a pick six with a carry-over of $98,294.

One for the road: Rowdy had a troubled trip in her first against winners for trainer Tom Voss and gets a positive post change in today’s sixth at Belmont Park. Cornelio Velasquez will ride the 3-year-old Malibu Moon filly in the $48,000 allowance at 1 1/16 miles on the turf.

Exotically speaking: A pick four using Turkish Cavalry, Dancing Warrior and Devil Badgett in the seventh, Total Impact, Supah Blitz and Lundy’s Liability in the eighth, Splendid Blended in the ninth and Diamond Fury, Heavy Traffic and Vienna Circle in the 10th.
