Mayor Charged With Fraud and Obstruction

The mayor of Lynchburg was indicted over allegations that he took about $30,000 from a church charity and defrauded two people of their Social Security disability benefits.
Mayor Carl B. Hutcherson Jr., 61, was charged with fraud, making false statements to federal officials and bank representatives, and obstruction of justice.
