Woman at Bus Stop Is Fatally Struck by Car
A 24-year-old woman was killed at a bus stop when the teenage driver of a speeding car collided with another car and careened onto a sidewalk early Wednesday -- injuring himself and the other driver.
Daniel Erez, 18, of Santa Monica was driving a 2000 Saturn east on Santa Monica Boulevard about 70 mph at 9:20 a.m. when he swerved into westbound lanes, passed stopped cars and slammed into a Toyota Corolla heading north on Barrington Avenue. The Saturn then struck Shari Sakahara of Los Angeles, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
