Late Bids Extend Auction of El Toro Land
From Times Staff Reports
The deadline for the auction of two remaining parcels of land in the closed El Toro Marine base was extended Thursday for at least another day as bids continued to come in.
The two parcels make up about 2,600 acres of the 3,700-acre former military airfield that is slated for redevelopment into a complex of homes, businesses and parks.
Home builder Lennar Corp. won the other two parcels Wednesday with bids totaling $185 million.
