Police Arrest 26 People Suspected of Gang Ties
From Times Staff Reports
Hundreds of police officers on Thursday fanned out across South Los Angeles, arresting 26 people who they say frequented a gang-ridden complex.
Sixteen people were arrested at the complex, on 69th and Main streets, on suspicion of illegally possessing and selling drugs and firearms. Ten others were arrested elsewhere.
Police say gang members deal drugs at the complex and have shot nine people since June 2002, including two children.
Officials have ordered all tenants to move out by Feb. 7.
