Knight scored six points during an early second-half spurt that helped the Lions cut the deficit to 43-39. But the Pilots (13-6, 2-2) methodically pulled away, building a 64-47 lead with 2:47 to play.

Loyola Marymount shot only 36% from the field, and starting guards Charles Brown and Damian Martin were a combined two for 17. Strong offensive rebounding kept the Lions in the game.
