Mystics Defeat the Silver Stars
Alana Beard had 27 points, a career-high seven steals and six assists to lead the Washington Mystics to a 73-58 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Thursday night at Washington.
Beard, who matched her career-high in points, left the game with 3:17 remaining one assist shy of another career-high.
Beard scored 14 points in the first half, and the Mystics led by eight at the break. She scored six consecutive points to give them a 58-40 lead with 12:22 left.

Connecticut 73, New York 70 -- Nykesha Sales scored 10 of her 21 points in the first nine minutes of the second half at Uncasville, Conn., to help the Sun rally from its biggest deficit of the season, 10 points.
The Sun is perfect (10-0) at home this season and has won 15 in a row at Mohegan Sun Arena dating to last season.
