Texas Earns Seventh Win in a Row

Annissa Hastings scored 19 points to lead No. 11 Texas over Texas A&M;, 69-57, Wednesday night at College Station, Texas.

It was the seventh consecutive victory for the Longhorns, 20-7 overall and 13-3 in the Big 12 Conference, and kept alive their hopes of gaining at least a share of their third straight conference title.

A win tonight by No. 13 Texas Tech over No. 7 Baylor would put the Longhorns in a three-way tie with those teams. Baylor can win the conference title outright with a victory.

The Aggies are 14-13, 4-12.

No. 17 Kansas State 80, Missouri 53 -- Kendra Wecker scored 21 of her 26 points in the second half and the Wildcats (21-6, 12-4 Big 12) beat the host Tigers (10-17, 4-12) for the ninth consecutive time.

Fresno State fired coach Stacy Johnson-Klein after an investigation that the school said determined she inappropriately obtained pain medication from students and staff and violated NCAA rules.

Johnson-Klein had been on paid administrative leave since Feb. 9.

SOUTHLAND

Chapman 72, Cal Lutheran 65 -- Kelli Vaughan scored 20 points and the host Panthers (21-5) beat the Regals (18-8) in the first round of the Division III playoffs.
