A 36-year-old woman who allegedly abducted her two children was taken into custody Sunday afternoon by the Glendale Police Department after someone spotted them in a Pico Rivera laundromat, police said.

The children were not harmed, officials said.

Rosanna Remey, who has a prior conviction for child abuse, reportedly kidnapped her children Saturday from the Glendale home of their father and grandmother. When the grandmother tried to intervene, Remey allegedly pushed and struck her several times, police said.

Over the weekend, pictures of Remey and her children, River, 6, and Angie, 5, were disseminated by the media and an Amber alert was issued.

Glendale police received scores of calls from witnesses who spotted Remey and her children in the Los Angeles area, said Sgt. Tom Lorenz.

On Saturday night, employees at a Montebello department store contacted authorities with a surveillance videotape that showed Remey shopping for clothes with the children.

She will be booked on suspicion of kidnapping, Lorenz said.
