Morgan Ensberg hit two home runs, Adam Everett had four runs batted in and Houston held on for a 13-12 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday night at Houston.

Houston roughed up Doug Davis (0-1) for nine runs and eight hits in only 2 2/3 innings.

“I made a few mistakes obviously,” Davis said. “I usually can get away with some of those, but not today.”

Ensberg, who has homered in a career-high four consecutive games, had a solo shot in the first and a two-run drive in the sixth off Chris Demaria. Craig Biggio had three hits, including a leadoff home run.

Houston led, 11-2, after six innings, but Milwaukee hit three two-run homers in the next two innings to cut the lead to 12-10. Carlos Lee hit two of the two-run homers for the Brewers.

Brewer Manager Ned Yost was pleased that his team kept fighting back.

“The offense is starting to kick in now and that’s a good sign,” he said. “It shows the character of your club when you’re down 11-2 and come back.”

Pittsburgh 12, St. Louis 4 -- Jason Bay hit a three-run homer in the first off Jeff Suppan (0-2) to get the Pirates off to an unaccustomed quick start and they withstood Albert Pujols’ 10th homer in 14 games to win at Pittsburgh.

Jeromy Burnitz also homered and drove in three for Pittsburgh, which shook off a ragged start by Oliver Perez (1-2) to beat St. Louis for only the 11th time in 32 games in Pittsburgh.

Arizona 7, San Francisco 4 -- Luis Gonzalez doubled off Matt Morris (2-1) to become the 21st major leaguer with 300 home runs and 500 doubles in the Diamondbacks’ victory at Phoenix.

Colorado 3, San Diego 2 -- Matt Holliday singled home the winning run off Jon Adkins (0-1) with two out in the 11th inning to lift the Rockies at Denver.
