A Huntington Beach man is scheduled to be arraigned today in the sexual assault of an 83-year-old woman in her Rossmoor home.

Jeffrey Miller, 35, allegedly broke into the woman’s home July 12, sexually assaulted her numerous times and demanded money or jewelry.

If convicted, he could spend 75 years to life in prison on charges of sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, torture, burglary and robbery, as well as special circumstances for causing great bodily injury to a sexual assault victim and committing a crime against a vulnerable victim, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

A neighbor of the woman called police after seeing a man wearing gloves jump a fence at the home, authorities said. Deputies arrested Miller as he was leaving the residence.

The woman was hospitalized.

Miller had been released from prison for drug convictions just months before the incident.
