No. 2 Duke Recovers to Beat Boston College

Second-ranked Duke shrugged off a slow start to defeat No. 22 Boston College, 66-52, on Saturday at Boston.

The Blue Devils, 16-0 overall and 5-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, missed 20 of their first 25 shots and finished with their lowest scoring total this season. They beat Georgia Tech, 67-59, on Wednesday.

Kindyll Dorsey scored 20 points for the Eagles (12-5, 0-3), who fell to 1-5 against top-25 teams.

No. 7 Connecticut 70, St. John’s 53 -- Charde Houston sparked the Huskies (15-2, 5-0 Big East) late in the game at Storrs, Conn., after the Red Storm (13-3, 3-2) moved to within one point with 11:11 left. She scored eight consecutive points during a 17-2 run to close out the game. The Red Storm were held to one basket during the last 7:11.

No. 10 Rutgers 63, Seton Hall 41 -- The Pirates (5-10, 2-2 Big East) held a three-point lead midway through the first half at Piscataway, N.J., before Michelle Campbell made a jump shot to spark a 17-0 run by the Scarlet Knights (12-2, 4-0).

No. 11 DePaul 84, Villanova 75 -- Khara Smith had 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Blue Demons (16-1, 3-1 Big East) over the Wildcats (10-5,1-3) at Chicago. The Wildcats kept the game close in the second half before DePaul used an 11-5 run to take a 74-69 lead with 1:45 left. Smith had seven points during the run.

No. 14 Stanford 87, California 75 -- Candice Wiggins made a career-high seven three-point baskets and scored 33 points to help the Cardinal (11-4, 6-1 Pacific 10) beat the visiting Golden Bears (12-5, 4-3) for the 12th time in a row and 27th time in the last 28 meetings of the Bay Area rivalry.

No. 15 Arizona State 69, Oregon State 51 -- Amy Denson made a basket and two free throws during an 8-1 run that gave the Sun Devils (14-3, 5-2 Pac-10) a 52-36 lead over the Beavers (7-7, 1-5) with 9:00 left at Tempe, Ariz.

No. 16 Oklahoma 85, Oklahoma State 51 -- The Sooners (13-4, 3-0 Big 12), who matched their season low with two three-point baskets in a 75-71 loss to Ohio State on Monday, made 13 of 28 at Stillwater to rout the Cowboys (6-9, 0-4).

No. 18 New Mexico 62, Wyoming 39 -- The Lobos (13-4, 3-1 Mountain West) took control with a 14-0 run to start the second half at Albuquerque. The Cowboys (12-3, 2-2) went the last 3:18 of the first half without a basket.

Louisville 61, No. 20 Notre Dame 51 -- The Cardinals (12-3, 3-1 Big East), who handed the Irish (10-5, 1-3) their fourth loss in five games, took control at Louisville, Ky., with a 15-0 run midway through the first half, holding Notre Dame scoreless for almost 10 minutes.

Texas 63, No. 24 Missouri 54 -- The Longhorns (8-6, 2-2 Big 12) held the Tigers (13-3, 3-1) to one point over the last 11 minutes at Austin, Texas. It was the 877th career win for Coach Jody Conradt, moving her past Adolph Rupp for third place among men’s and women’s college coaches.
