Louisiana Tech Eliminates Nevada

Tasha Williams scored 20 points and Shan Moore had 19 to lead No. 17 Louisiana Tech to a 69-60 victory Friday over Nevada in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament at Reno.

The Lady Techsters (25-4) advanced to today’s championship game against seventh-seeded New Mexico State.

Dellena Criner scored 15 points and Brandi Fitzgerald had 14 to lead the Wolf Pack (13-17).

No. 19 Utah 61, Nevada Las Vegas 45 -- Shona Thorburn had 14 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Utes (23-6) over the Rebels (18-11) and into the title game of the Mountain West Conference tournament at Denver.

No. 20 Brigham Young 63, Texas Christian 53 -- Junior center Dani Kubik scored a career-best 24 points, and the Cougars (25-4) survived a second-half slump to defeat the Horned Frogs (18-11) and advance to the championship of the Mountain West tournament at Denver.

No. 24 Bowling Green 68, Toledo 46 -- Liz Honegger scored 17 points, and the Falcons (27-2) won their 18th consecutive game and earned their third consecutive trip to the Mid-American Conference tournament final by defeating the Rockets (11-18) at Cleveland.
