Sup and shop

Hungry but in the mood to shop? Ka-ching! At these spots, you can do both.

Horseless Carriage

This might be the only place in Los Angeles where you can buy a brand-new Ford Mustang between courses. Not that the Horseless Carriage, part of the vast Galpin dealership, is a multi-course kind of place. Rather, it’s a fine coffee shop, popular for its weekday breakfast specials and fresh roasted turkey sandwiches.

* Turkey sandwich, $8.25. 15505 Roscoe Blvd., North Hills, (818) 778-2014.

Casbah Cafe

In the rear of this funky French-Moroccan cafe with the bright blue facade is a boutique stocked with Kurtas (loose embroidered shirts) for moms and babies, pretty Moroccan tea glasses and Bensimon sneakers from Paris. Recharge with iced tea with fresh mint. For something more substantial, the sweet corn salad with tuna is popular.

* Salad, $10. 3900 Sunset Blvd., Silver Lake, (323) 664-7000.

Palais des Thes

Tea goes vogue at this outpost of the Paris-based tea purveyor. Some 250 teas are available to purchase in bulk. You can also try a pot of any of them, brewed to order, at the six-seat counter. The beautiful shop also stocks Japanese cast iron tetsubin teapots, generally considered the best because of their ability to keep what’s inside hot. Not to mention they’re great looking.

* Pot of tea, $10 to $12. 401 N. Canon Drive, Beverly Hills, (310) 271-7922.

Cafe Midi

Service can be, uh, leisurely, at this chic hideaway tucked into the rear of the fab housewares shop Maison Midi. But we love the oversized salads, including a good Greek, and the fact that breakfast is served all day. The cafe also does excellent coffee drinks, all made with organic beans.

* Salads, $11.95 to $14.50. 148 S. La Brea Ave., L.A. (323) 939-9860.

Cube

This spring, Divine Pasta became this appealing spot with the deep red walls and metal-topped cheese bar. Sure, you can sit and have pasta -- like lobster ravioli in zucchini saffron sauce. But the real draw’s the shopping: Cube has a great selection of artisan salumi, prosciutto, mortadella and Tuscan grilled ham. Plus, white anchovies, marinated eggplant and other packaged antipasti, a dozen mostardas and Italian cookies.

* Ravioli, $12.95. 615 N. La Brea Ave., L.A., (323) 939-1148.
