* at Cleveland 5, Texas 0: Jake Westbrook ended the longest winless stretch of his career just in time for the slumping Indians, who stopped a four-game losing skid. Westbrook (2-6) picked up his first win since April 27 -- a span of nine starts. Grady Sizemore celebrated his 25th birthday by driving in two runs against Kason Gabbard (4-1) and 40-year-old Kenny Lofton beat out an infield RBI single for Cleveland.
* at Boston 7, Baltimore 4: Doug Mirabelli went three for three with a homer, recovering from a baserunning gaffe to drive in the tiebreaking run in the seventh inning. Eric Gagne pitched the ninth in his first appearance since Boston acquired him from Texas on Tuesday.
* Chicago 13, at New York 9: The White Sox and Yankees scored eight runs each in the second inning. Jermaine Dye homered twice and doubled twice for the White Sox.
* Kansas City at Minnesota, ppd.: The Twins postponed the game because of the bridge collapse that occurred Wednesday about a half-mile from the stadium. The game will be made up Aug. 31 as part of a day-night doubleheader.
