Times Staff Writer

Simi Valley police are continuing their search for a missing couple who were last heard from two weeks ago, authorities said Friday.

Robert J. Callender, 63, and his wife, Barbara, 62, were last seen about 11 a.m. July 28.

Callender was known to be at his business, Information Systems Support Group in Burbank, that day, and his wife spoke with family members from their Simi Valley residence sometime during the day. The couple’s black Jeep Grand Cherokee, with a personalized plate -- ISSG -- is missing from their home in the 5000 block of Shady Trail Street.

Since the couple disappeared, Information Systems Support Group has closed its offices in the 300 block of East Magnolia Boulevard. A phone recording alerts employees that paychecks will be delayed. The company provides temporary staffing to Internet, information technology, entertainment and insurance firms.

Police said there has been no known contact between the Callenders and any family members or friends since their disappearance. Relatives told authorities that it is out of character for Robert Callender to miss work or scheduled business meetings, and for either he or his wife to not contact their family.

Anyone with information about the couple is asked to call Sgt. Randy Foushee of the Simi Valley Police Department at (805) 583-6906.
