Man is killed when bus, cars collide on 710

A man was killed Monday night in a collision involving two or more cars and a bus on the northbound 710 Freeway in Long Beach, authorities said.

The collision occurred at 8:38 p.m., south of Artesia Boulevard. The victim, identified only as a white adult male, was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities investigating the accident shut two lanes of the freeway, slowing traffic late into the night. They did not disclose whether the victim was in the car or on the bus.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office is investigating the cause of the death.
