Smush Parker’s stint with the Lakers is officially over.

The free-agent point guard signed a two-year contract for just under $5 million with the Miami Heat, a move that may signal the end of Gary Payton’s time in Miami.

Parker, 26, started all of the Lakers’ games in 2005-06 and the first 80 of 82 regular-season games in 2006-07. But Coach Phil Jackson was dissatisfied with Parker’s production and replaced him with Jordan Farmar in the starting lineup for the final two games of the regular season and the team’s five-game series loss to the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.

Parker averaged 11.1 points and 2.8 assists per game in 2006-07. He made $798,112 and was the second-lowest paid player on the Lakers last season.

Law enforcement authorities said they found “a large quantity” of marijuana inside the home along with several firearms including “a couple rifles and a shotgun,” sheriff’s Sgt. Pat Valdez said. A handgun was found outside the residence “on the lawn area,” Valdez said. That gun was taken from the home and dropped by one of the suspects, Valdez said.

Scott, 32, was arrested on suspicion of felony residential burglary with his cousin and an associate.

Questions regarding what the coach was doing there and who the drugs and guns belonged to “are all unknown, and under investigation,” Valdez said. “Finding the owner is important.”
