* at Chicago Cubs 11, Chicago White Sox 6: Derrek Lee, sidelined for five games because of a sore neck, capped a six-run eighth inning with a pinch-hit grand slam. “The last guy I thought that was going to come off the bench was him,” White Sox Manager Ozzie Guillen said of Lee.

* at Boston 13-0, Atlanta 3-14: The Braves set a team record with 12 extra-base hits as they handed the Red Sox their worst shutout loss in 17 years to split a day-night doubleheader. In the first game, Daisuke Matsuzaka won his fifth decision in a row and Mike Lowell hit a grand slam to give the Red Sox a 7-0 lead in the fifth inning.

* Florida 7, at Tampa Bay 2: Dontrelle Willis (6-3) yielded two runs in seven innings, and Jeremy Hermida and Aaron Boone homered on consecutive pitches in the sixth to lead the Marlins at St. Petersburg, Fla.

* Cincinnati 10, at Cleveland 5: Brandon Phillips hit a three-run homer against his former team and extended his hitting streak to 21 games, leading the Reds. The Reds were without rookie center fielder Josh Hamilton, who was treated at a hospital for stomach problems.

* at Detroit 8, St. Louis 7: Ivan Rodriguez’s three-run homer in the third inning gave the Tigers a six-run lead, and they held on to win. The Tigers have won the first two games of the series between last year’s World Series teams.

* at Colorado 6, Kansas City 4: Gil Meche yielded a two-run homer to Brad Hawpe and a three-run shot to Garrett Atkins -- the first earned runs he has given up on the road this season.

* at N.Y. Mets 10, N.Y. Yankees 7: Staked to a six-run lead, Tom Glavine pitched six-plus innings for his 295th victory. He was helped by David Wright, who hit a pair of two-run homers.

* Arizona 9, at Pittsburgh 8: Carlos Quentin’s two-run single in the eighth inning capped the Diamondbacks’ comeback from a six-run deficit.

* at Houston 6, Texas 1: The Astros broke a 1-1 tie with a five-run sixth inning and won for the seventh time in 10 home games. The Rangers have lost nine of 12.

* Minnesota 5, at Milwaukee 2: Scott Baker pitched into the ninth inning in his first major league appearance this season, and the Twins won their 12th consecutive interleague game.

* Toronto 13, at Philadelphia 2: Matt Stairs hit his 10th career grand slam during a six-run eighth inning.

* Baltimore 3, at Washington 2 (11 innings): Jay Payton’s two-run double gave the Orioles the victory.

* at Oakland 4, San Francisco 2: Jack Cust hit a three-run homer for the A’s. Barry Bonds played in his ninth game in a row without hitting a homer.

* at Seattle 7, San Diego 4: Jose Guillen homered and drove in four runs against Greg Maddux. Adrian Beltre also homered off Maddux in the third inning.

* at Angels 6, Dodgers 2: The Angels have beaten the Dodgers in 13 of the last 16 meetings at Angel Stadium.
