Cab driver shot dead; police unsure of motive

A 40-year-old taxi driver was shot and killed in Boyle Heights early Saturday by an unknown assailant, authorities said.
Los Angeles Police Department Det. Jacob Dugger said the motive for the crime was unclear, but it could be narcotics-related.
Miguel Reyes Morales, a resident of Boyle Heights and father of four, was shot about 3:45 a.m. in his cab near Sloat and Boulder streets.
Paramedics pronounced Morales dead at the scene.
